In this fun and practical course, Joshua will share with you the importance of mind stillness and meditation and the numerous benefits that prayer and contemplation can add to your life. To learn to become the master of your own mind and life is of utmost importance for the times that we about to enter on planet Earth.
The ability to concentrate is the root of all the higher abilities in man. This course will also address concentration problems and where we as humans self sabotage ourselves from becoming our highest potential. Through the practicing of Mind stillness and Meditation, the mind will turn inwards and the obstacles which stand in the way of progress will disappear. These obstacles are: illness, fatigue, doubt, laziness, attachment, ignorance, temptations. Such distractions make the body restless, the breathing course and the mind agitate. The result is suffering. Mind Stillness and Meditation is a must for us all if we want to free ourselves and ultimately reach Enlightenment and fulfil our life’s mission here on earth.
BIO JOSHUA MAREE
Joshua has been fortunate enough to start meditating from the age of 20. Joshua started exploring meditation courses with Natalie Baker in Cape Town South Africa where he completed a course on Basic Meditation and also a course on Visualization for Self Empowerment. Joshua was then guided to study the Vipassana Meditation technique with Mr. Goenka in the UK and also South Africa. Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation, invented by The Buddha himself. It was taught in India more than 2500 years ago as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art of Living.
The technique of Vipassana Meditation is taught at ten-day residential courses during which participants learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results. Joshua has completed four of these 10 Day Courses over the last eight years where he has learned valuable information on the psychology of the mind and how the mind operates. He then moved onto Tibetan Buddhism where he studied at the Tibetan centre in Cape Town and completed the Basic and Advanced Meditation course and also attended a weekend retreat at the centre. Joshua has also received training and initiations by Lama Yeshe Rinpoche under the Lama Yeshe Kagyu Tibetian Lineage where he has taken refuge during 2007.
Joshua was trained and initiated as a Kabbalist by International Kabbalist Teacher and Healer, Verla Wade, where the studying of meditation and the mind became one of the top priorities as an initiated Kabbalist. Joshua has also practiced yoga for many years and attended several Kundalini yoga retreats with well known and much loved, Patwant Kaur where meditation was practiced extensively.
Joshua has also explored with several other techniques and also completed a Course on Ancient Kabbalah Teachings where he was initiated into the Order of Melchizedek.
Trained and initiated as a Shamanic Healer and Priest by Peruvian Inkari Shaman Master, Kamaq Wageaq, Joshua makes use of his own soul’s creativity and his own healing gifts.
During 2009, Joshua appeared on the television program Free Spirit and also Radio Jozi Today, for his work as a Therapist and Healer.
