The massage is performed on a floor mat on the clothed body.

Thais love the arts of fighting like boxing and fencing, so when some injuries or accidents occurred, they learned how to cure themselves from pain using body twisting and self massaging (and later developing this further to traditional massage until it became a theory). Moreover massaging is a way of treating sickness, when tired and weak. The Thai stretching techniques affect the entire body, increasing flexibility, releasing both deep and superficial tension, and helping the body's natural energy flow more freely.

Physical illness is viewed as a metaphor for underlying issues.  What we repress and deny comes upon us in time, biding it’s time through its locked expression in the body.  The body can be divided into energy segments or zones and that different segments, due to their form and function, store different memories, emotions, issues and traumas. Energy blockages in the different segments can distort affect, posture and movement in characteristic ways and can result in specific physical and emotional illnesses.  Acupressure Massage can be used as a powerful tool to bring balance to body, mind and soul.

"We see the greatest of abominations being committed upon your earth--the defilement of the sacred temples, your bodies. The Holy Spirit cannot enter into a defiled body. It must be cleansed first. This cleansing will be done of your free will or, in the mercy of the Father; you will receive this cleansing through chastisement.”

– Our Lady, August 5, 1974
